John Saunders Reeves was a waterside labourer. He resided at No. 37, George Yard Buildings.

John Saunders Reeves discovered the murder of Martha Tabram. At approximately 4.45am he left his room to go to work. He was horrified to come across the body of a woman, lying on her back in a pool of blood.

He sought out a policeman. He found PC Thomas Barrett 226H and led him back to the body of Martha.
