Sir Melville Macnaghten

Sir Melville Macnaghten joined the Metropolitan Police in 1889.

In a confidential note he prepared about the Whitechapel murders in 1894 Melville Macnaghten detailed that Mary Ann Connelly had ‘failed, or refused, to identify’ the soldiers sought during the Martha Tabram investigation.
