How many people did Jack The Ripper kill?

Most experts, or ripperologists, agree that "Jack The Ripper" killed five women. These women have become to be known as the "Canonical Five".

Mary Ann Nichols - 31st August 1888

Mary Ann Nichols was brutally murdered on 31st August 1888 in Bucks Row, which has since been named Durward Street.

Annie Chapman - 8th September 1888

Annie Chapman, also known as Annie Siffey, was found dead at around 6am on the 8th September 1888. Annie Chapman's mutilated body was discovered in the back yard of 29, Hanbury Street, Spitalfields.

Elizabeth Stride - 30th September 1888

On 30th September, 1888, at approximately 12.45am, Elizabeth Stride was found brutally murdered in Dutfield’s Yard.

Catherine Eddowes - 30th September 1888

PC Watkins returned was patrolling Mitre Square at approximately 1.44am when he stumbled across the mutilated body of Elizabeth Stride.

Mary Jane Kelly - 9th November 1888

At 10.45 am, Thomas Bowyer was sent to collect the rent from Mary Jane because she was 29 shillings in arrears. Bowyer looked through the window to find the hideously mutilated body of Mary Jane Kelly.
